A Critically Acclaimed Year for Q.Digital

Published on October 27, 2025

Every so often, you have to pause and take stock of what a year has meant — not just the metrics and milestones, but the moments that remind you why you do this work in the first place. For us at Q.Digital, this has been one of those years.

In a time when independent media is under pressure and LGBTQ+ stories continue to be politicized, our network — Queerty, LGBTQ Nation, Outsports and GayCities — has kept showing up. We’ve told the stories that matter, the ones that remind people that queer lives are complex, joyful, and worth celebrating.

And along the way, that work has been recognized in some truly meaningful ways.

Outsports wins an Emmy

This fall, Outsports brought home a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Short Form Program for Ballin’ Out — our docuseries spotlighting the out LGBTQ+ athletes and coaches of Team USA’s Women’s Wheelchair Basketball Team.

It’s a powerful reminder that inclusion in sports storytelling isn’t a niche — it’s essential. Huge congratulations to founders Cyd Zeigler and Jim Buzinski, and everyone who helped bring these stories to life.

Earlier this year, Q.Digital received the GLAAD Barbara Gittings Award for Excellence in LGBTQ+ Mediaa recognition of our ongoing commitment to telling authentic stories and uplifting our community across every brand.

We also took home two awards at the 2025 NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ+ Journalists Excellence in Journalism Awards, celebrating the depth, heart, and quality behind the work our teams do every day.

Why It Matters

We don’t do this work for awards. But in moments like these — when journalism is being challenged and queer representation is being questioned — it means something to see the impact reflected back.

These wins belong to every writer, editor, designer, and partner who helps us tell stories that matter. And to every reader who keeps showing up for LGBTQ+ media — thank you. You’re the reason this work continues.

Here’s to the year we’ve had, and to the stories we’ll keep telling. Because visibility isn’t just something we cover — it’s something we live.
